I agree, but then again after the 2004 DNC speech, Obama was a very high nail indeed.
A bit of a difference there though, Palin just appears like she is thick as pigslop and seems to revel in demonstrating again and again how dumb she is.

Obama has been doing that all along, though. He kowtows to a king, then doubles down.
Off on one of your repeated nonsensical episodes again?

The press is rabid about attacking her. I'm fine with digging dirt on every last one of them, regardless of party. But the same people that deride "fair and balanced" used to describe Fox (I don't watch TV news (or commentary) at all, so don't even go there), seem to have no problem with the press putting way more effort into "researching" a non-candidate than they ever did on the candidate of their choice.

Multiple full-time people reading old emails, and none even asking if any old Obama emails exist, much less reading them, and asking people at large to dig dirt for them.

The trove of more than 13,000 emails detailing almost every aspect of Sarah Palin***8217;s governorship of Alaska, released late on Friday, paints a picture of her as an idealistic, conscientious, humorous and humane woman slightly bemused by the world of politics.
One can only assume that the Left-leaning editors who dispatched teams of reporters to remote Juneau, the Alaskan capital, to pore over the emails in the hope of digging up a scandal are now viewing the result as a rather poor return on their considerable investment.
If anything, Mrs Palin seems likely to emerge from the scrutiny of the 24,000 pages, contained in six boxes and weighing 275 pounds, with her reputation considerably enhanced. As a blogger at Powerline noted, the whole saga might come to be viewed as ***8220;an embarrassment for legacy media***8221;.
Quote:
She is, however, viewed with a kind of horrified fascination by many in the media, who faithfully records everything she says and does while at the same time decrying her as ignorant and even evil.
Quote:
Mrs Palin has repeatedly said that she believes Mr Obama can be defeated and that she will do everything to achieve that.
And with the help of the dumb media she just might accomplish this.

Once again tater you ignore reality.
The mainstream press "reseaerching" your current president is a full time occurance. Regularrly we get to see here mainstream press accusations being made about him, his wife kids friends relations associates strangers....all the way back to birth and even beyond. Then you have the mainstream press further covering all of those little nuggets and digging up every little thing they can until it emerges that it was all bollox in the first place.
Then funnily enough you get people popping up here repeating the same old media stories again and again months or even years after they were already shown to be complete bollox.

A quality endorsement.
So yubba would you describe yourself as a typical Palin fan?

Where are Obama's records from his time as a lawyer? Who were his clients? His school records (college)? His tenure as a state lawmaker?

If it weren't for the outlandish statements of his spiritual mentor, the kooky Rev. Wright, there'd have been little coverage of his past at all (past lovingly reading his bio).

Of course, once president, they are under 24/7 scrutiny. That is different than "background" before they are elected.

Again, Palin is a private citizen who currently holds no public office, and who is not yet even running for office. She gets clearly disproportionate coverage and "dirt digging" compared to others that deserve such coverage.

I'm not even sure she's gonna run (I certainly hope not).

This Tribesman. It is a great waste of time and resources for the media that covers her. Then again, if Palin was not such a cash cow for the media and the attention their paper/station receives then what is she?

Just as an aside. I haven't ready much of anything the press has written about her. Reading too far into political articles just takes more time and patience then i'm willing to put forth on the subject. I have a very low BS tolerance. No.. the press didn't really influence my thoughts on Palin. The presidential debates did.

This Tribesman.
Isn't it funny that AVGs blogger in that conservative media outlet has been running "is she ain't she will she please" articles since her VP ticket went down the drain.
How can you say she gets disproportionate coverage when she has her own media "news" slot, her own political action commitee pushing what passes for her agenda and a series of nationwide media tours promoting herself?
Someone cannot court daily media coverage then complain about daily media coverage.
I think the only reason for most of the complaints over the "disproportionate" coverage are that
(a) the media shows her to be crap
(b) enough idiots like her no matter what and a "media conspiracy" feeds their "ideas" which gives more coverage which makes her look dumber which.....
(c)she is dividing the GOP and distracting with fringe issues as well as driving away the center which is key to any election.

Quoting the daily media coverage as a case and point concerning the overzealous media that looks to be assisting Palin in her quest to remove Obama from the White House. The quoted portion on that seems to understand how incredibly stupid this is concerning the emails and this is the best you have to say about it?

I think you are wrong. For a person who is a non-entity the hounds were at her old place of employment tackling each other for a peek at some old emails. It is anal at best. Truly the fools are those that persist in following and looking to dig dirt. My quoted article substantiates this whether it be a Liberal, Conserative or some crackpot writing an article.

Default What news media is?

Okay... now. Question for all: Have you considered what "news media" actually is? Is it nonpartisan charity? Rarely. Is it partisan organization? Possibly. Is it business? Well... if we talk about "mainstream media" then most likely: Yes.

"Mainstream media" writes/broadcast what it thinks to sell best. Cold reality is that Palin is more "sexy" than Obama. She looks better in front page pictures and has record of saying dumb things - which look good in frontlines. Mrs. Palin is gold mine for press. She is more worth of investment (in resources) than Obama.

Would I like to hear more about Obama's past? Yes. Would I like to hear more about Obama's dumb moments than Palin's? No. Why? Palin is more entertaining!

EDIT: I admit that I missed post #37 by AVGWarhawk when I wrote this comment

Indeed, as others have come up with very different takes than that blogger especially over her economic credentials her appearing to be a stuffed mouthpiece for certain interests and her seemingly thick as a plank views

You think she doesn't look incredibly dumb?

She may be a non entity, but is she really a non entity in the American republican arena, she certainly gets enough positive and negative responses from the GOP as well as some crazy fanboy rants from the more nutty right wing media as well as some of the worlds biggest media who support her.
Come to think of it a load of high profile American "journalists" went on a rant this week when some foriegn politicians team said Palin wouldn't get given a meeting on a visit as she was seen as a joke.

Would you say that they are more foolish than those who promote this muppet?

BTW wasn't all this current e-mail story grown out of the story that she had been using private accounts for official e-mails to get around having to release it as official correspondance.

Media is not objective period
Personal or channels views will always float around.
Palin looks dumb and anachronic to most.?
Obama is sleek and charismatic and mainstream love him.
Media loves him.
Outcome -Palin gets some kicks because she deserve them then some more for the fun.
Obama will get some polite criticism.

She does not look dumb. She is good looking actually. As far as meaningful brain activity, yes sir, she is not the sharpest.

This is true and something I have posted in the many threads concerning Palin. I have asked many times of those that continue to down play Palin, what is the attraction then if she is such a dope?

No worries for Palin, her emails were top of the line news. I read a few articles about her emails of old. I heard nothing of foreign politicians having a pow-wow. People like possible smut from anyone in the limelight. Just today I got to see pictures of Congressman Weiner in his underwear holding the family jewels. Really, this was over some English muffins with butter. This crap sells.

No sir. She is a self promoter. The media helps though because it sells papers and creates ratings. It is similar to the opening of Al Capones vault by Heraldo. The anticipation was unbearable. The viewership astonishing. The vault was empty! Palin emails full of nothing but the anticipation was generated. The viewship astonishing.

Not that I'm aware of. I know her personal account was hacked. Said hacker has been tried and convicted.

She planned on visiting Margaret Thatcher in the UK I heard, but Thatcher didn't want to see her. Thatcher's employees called Palin 'nuts', and said she wasn't interested in a meeting.
