Sarah Palin e-mails: First details emerge
Critics say the e-mails may damage Palin's presidential chances.
Details are emerging of Sarah Palin's life as governor of Alaska, following the release of 24,000 pages of her e-mails by officials in the US state. As well as the mundane matters of political office, the correspondence reveals her frustration over rumours about her family and marriage. Media organisations applied to see the e-mails in 2008 when she was picked as the Republican running mate. Mrs Palin is widely viewed as a potential 2012 presidential candidate. Alaska has released 24,199 printed pages of e-mails covering Mrs Palin's first 21 months as governor - from 2006 until she accepted the vice-presidential nomination. Praise for Obama Reporters from a number of news organisations descended on the Alaskan capital of Juneau on Friday to sift through the documents, which were only released in paper form. Some of the correspondence is written in Mrs Palin's trademark folksy manner. The day after she was plucked from relative obscurity in 2008 for the presidential ticket of Republican nominee John McCain, she wrote to an associate: "Can you flippinbelieveit?!" The e-mails reveal her irritation at the so-called Troopergate affair, when she was accused of pursuing a vendetta against her sister's ex-husband, an Alaska policeman. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13733501 Note: 11 June 2011 Last updated at 09:04 GMT |
I haven't read all 24 000 pages of her emails but the article Vendor has copy-pasta'd seems to indicate that she is human.
Yep, human. Why? How?: Quote:

Ofc i'm a realist, i'm sure there will be more to it than that. Or will there be? The media will have something to say about that. As for being human? I guess as a politician, being human and showing human values is something that shouldn't be done. If you ask the media, or your fellow oposition. Imo, there isn't enough of that. Human politicians. |
Sarah Palin is no longer a politician. She ceased being someone anyone had to take seriously the moment she left the office of governor of Alaska two years early and signed up to be the subject of a "reality" show. She's a "celebrity commodity"; she asked the public to consume her "product" and they are. Most of the e-mails released seem pretty banal so far.
I'm sure that any and all publicity Palin gets is exactly what she wants. |
Where I agree with you Torplexed, that she is entitled extremely media obsessed, and I can say that the material, is not controversial as what I had previously.

Sadly this woman has had a journalist colonoscopy. Has there ever been anyone vetted as Palins has been? They are still climbing up her butt. For someone who is such a non-entity and as dumb as a box of rocks folks sure do follower here like the proverbal Pied Piper. The entire Palin bashing and investigations is completely anal.

So for a non US Citizen to be enlightened, what seems to be the deciding factor(s) for hounding the heck out of this Woman?
I mean, if she is absolutely no threat to any political parties or persons, then why the heck not just leave her alone? Are you Guys (and i mean the Media and Political Editors etc etc) that write about her continuously so bored and in love with her, figuratively speaking, that maybe, just maybe there is other things to write about. Or rather other, more influential and 'real' Presidential hopes. Just curious. |
Maybe they are trying to find out if she is really a man. Who knows what drives the media on Palin. Probably the usual...ratings and profit.

She's playing the presidential tease game, and the press are playing along with her. |

i'm not a Palin fan, but this entire exercise by the press is instructive. They press countless reporters into this, and also ask for volunteers in the general public to assist them in reading the emails of someone who at this point is not even a candidate for President.
How many reporters did they press into the effort to even look up the public documents and positions of Obama when he was in his state legislature? How about his legal practice? School records for college? None, as far as I can tell. Maybe Fox tried with a few. This is bias. Bias doesn't have to be so obvious in the text of reporting, but in focus. Create a task force to investigate one person's emails, and ignore the entire past of another—OK, ignore is not fair. They all read, and repeated (often breathlessly, perhaps even with a tingle up their leg) whatever Obama wrote in his autobiographies. |

It's what people mean when they say that US mainstream media has a liberal bias. |
No one in there right mind can take her seriously and to honest she has some what become a media joke.
