Right, let's catch up with Prometheus news.

---------------------------------------

Bleeding Cool has posted up an interesting article after having talked to their own source:

“Remember how the alien took on canine qualities after gestating in a dog? You may even suppose that the first film’s alien was so recognisably humanoid because it had grown in a human. The same applies here: generation by generation, the creature mutates. As Prometheus begins, the xenomorph is not too recognisable. Sure, it has that alien DNA that Scott and Fassbender teasingly referred to, but it’s missing… well, it’s missing human DNA. Or dog DNA.

All you have to do is imagine how it might look if it were to mix DNA with another alien species… and I think we’re starting to work it all out.
I learned that the film’s setting is, in part, a planet that has been terraformed to create the perfect environment in which a particular bioweapon would prosper. Terraformed deliberately to farm the weapon? I got no clear answer. Is this bioweapon the alien? I got no clear answer. While there was a lot of wheezing and coughing on my end of the phone, there was a good deal of quiet smirking on the other, it seems.”

---------------------------------------

According to the UK paper Daily Mail a further three cast members have joined Prometheus, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie:

“Elba will be best known to CBMers as playing Roque in The Losers as well as Heimdell in Marvel’s upcoming Thor of course. Harris you may recognize from Harry Brown with Michael Caine, or from the original Red Riding trilogy with Andrew Garfield. Scottish actress Dickie will most likely not be well known to US readers but she starred in the bleakly brilliant Red Road in the UK.“

---------------------------------------

Following on from the previous news report, Daily Mail also talked to Ridley Scott and he’s only gone and made things even more confusing:

“Prometheus, Ridley declared, was not — as some have suggested — a prequel to his classic sci-fi shocker Alien. But he refused to divulge more.”

He also mentions production will start on Prometheus in 3 weeks and that he is really trying to keep the film in complete secrecy. “I was insistent that the script not leak onto the internet, where it gets dissected out of context, which spoils it for everyone.

In regards to an unspecified cast member the article said: “Indeed, one of his actors told me that he could recite the entire screenplay to me — but then he’d have to wrestle me to the ground and, this was related in the nicest possible way, ‘kill me.

---------------------------------------

Aint It Cool News recently reported that Prometheus will be filming in Scotland:

“The Scottish Daily Express reported today that Inverness or Fort William in the Scottish Highlands will be the production base for an August and September shoot. According to the article, other mountainous parts of Europe had been considered but the Scottish Highlands best suited the film’s theme of “grand mythology and the universe” (the relative proximity to Pinewood Studios in England where the rest of the film is shooting wouldn’t have hurt either).

Small update.

ago, there were intelligent creatures everywhere.” It is a time when HR
Giger’s monster didn’t exist. “I have to create something new.”

Now what this means exactly we don’t know but JoBlo took this to mean
we’ll actually see millions of years ago.

Dam, i was getting my hopes up:
Quote:
Which basically means in a shorter version that He is working on Alien, Part 5 and it will be released in 2 years.
The direction? It will be a Back to the future style, long before Sigourney took it up with the Alien.

Then i saw the date the article was written.

Update from AVPgalaxy.net

Prometheus News | Posted by Darkness on 22 Apr 2011 11:32 GMT

AlienPrequelNews have posted some interesting details on Prometheus. First, there was a call sheet which listed the following actors and their characters: Charlize Theron (Vickers), Idris Elba (Janek), Emun Elliot (Chance) and Benedict Wong (Ravel). Their source also saw three aliens and gave details about the costumes.

“Though security on the set is very tight with the good weather, dock doors have been open and cast and crew have been enjoying lunch outdoors. I can confirm seeing 3 aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders”

“The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that’s a clue. I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film.”

“I managed to enter the bond stage one weekend when no filming was sheduled all I can say is there is a very very long tunnel that leads to an enormous structure at the back of the stage which is the same height as the stage and probably extends out another 200 ft. All of these sets are surrounded by wood foam and scaffold so sid not see inside, I think this is were the Space Jockey set is.”

Thanks to Darkoo for the news.

That's nothing. I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's.

P.S. And his hair was perfect.

An Alien movie without Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley ?

An Alien movie with a 60+ years old Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley ?

So the only chance for a good Alien could be a prequel.

But that is only my two pennies on it...

Predators balls'd it up. Would've been so much better with more Lawrence Fishburne's character.

And the super predators?

Aye....hence the 'amazed' smiley at the end.

Besides....I always wanted to see them win
