Pretty ironic since before the game's release I was regulaly branded as a 'Fanboy' here, for asking people to stop bashing it and to give it a chance!
Maybe I also should remind you that I bought the game on pre-order, (DRM and all)
I wasnt dissing the game - just pointing out the obvious in saying it was a missed opportunity in many ways (which it is) and that the poster should not get his hopes up over any further SHV development from Ubi or another Developer.

If you actually read my post properly, I said the DRM put many people off at the time, but it sure as hell didn't stop me.
What there is of SH5 + mods it is pretty good and its certainly worth the money that you'd pay for it now. but regardless it needed alot more (in my opinion).

Now then, why has myself (and Torplexed?) gotta be treated with suspicion just because we havent posted here in a while? If I didn't give a damn about SHV I would not be here simple as that.

@JU_88 if anything I said offended you, I am sorry, that was not my intention. I don't mean to assign people labels, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and should be able to make that opinion known.

I simply want to make sure the SH5 modders are given their fair shot at SH5 before people start thinking "the ship has sailed."

Only you can tell if it's worth it.

Personally I bought it at the bargain basement price, but I've hardly touched it yet, the little I did with it looked good and I haven't regreted my purchase.

You didnt offend me at all - no need to aplogise.
I just meant the "ship has sailed" for any further offical work.
its a shame that the titles future pretty much rests on the shoulders of the modders, as thats not the way its supposed to be.
Like many im still a little bit dissapointed the way things turned out, but im not a hater

Ahhh, yes I agree, the possibility of official work on SH5 in the future is gone.

I see. It's not gone, is it?

Nope, still that that initial check nagging at us. But, for someone with satellite internet constant DRM was a huge pain, so things are a lot better for me.

It's not totally bad, some games are online only - what's the difference?

Nothing really. I wouldn't discourage someone else from playing the game because of my own peculiarities. On the other hand, if I had to log into MGM's website before I could watch a movie I bought, or into Sony's site before I could listen to a CD I bought. I probably wouldn't see any movies or listen to any music either. That's how strongly I feel about the concepts involved. But that's just me.

I wouldn't have gotten into this again at all if someone hadn't suggested brainwashing on the part of people opposed to it. That, thought I, deserved an answer.

Since I buy most of my games through Steam (SH5 is no exception), I need an internet connection to play almost all of them

The DRM is a non issue at this point, IMHO. I've owned the game for over a year, and just started seriously getting into it. It was a similar path for me with other SH products. Modded, this is a fun game currently to me, nothing else like it anywhere.

Never meant to diss the game, nor did I mention DRM. Was just pointing out to the OP that once a publisher turns their back on a product and cuts their losses along with the price they rarely glance back over their shoulder.
