I agree that WinMerge is great for file comparisons and merging.

JTxE.exe works great, too.

I'm thinking more along the lines of making and editor than you can:---

1) Insert and remove whole 'modules' [Gxx.. things and reorder the IDs at will
2) A DDS viewer (not editor) than allows you to view the game screen, position/select your pages, images and automatically update the zone, zoom, etc.. parameters.
3) any other ideas that spring to mind..
PLEASE YES DO ITTTTTT

OK.. If you insist

Besides Zamboni's page, is there any other info available on the SH series page interface. It'll be nice to have all the stuff available.. just in case.

Thanks

Yes, karamazovnew studied and documented extensively the menu.ini matters when creating his own mod. He even released some templates to reposition numbers and such. But an editor that would allow to drag and drop or at least to modify manually the numbers for the positions of items while seeing how they move and where they go to would be a blessing. There is still much that can be done regarding the interface, for example I would like to rework the useless attack map into a full screen TDC. But even with the help of Karamazov's documents it is too overwhelming for me.

The thread is here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=152590

Thanks for your initiative and good luck

Thanks for that..
I don't have SH5 and looking through karamazovnew stuff, I came up with nearly the same idea and format as the SH5 editor - although this was before SH5 was even near release.

I must say that I definitely have a better plan than what the SH5 editor presents (from what I can see)... more along the lines of 'ease of workflow'.

As an example:
- There will be currently a max of 4 files (INI/CFG/..etc) open at one time, with simple switching between views, copy/paste into any tree structure. Each input/ouput file having their own location folders (prevent overwriting originals)
- interconnecting related file types. (EG: tooltips, commands..dah dah dah)

but it'll be a WIP
