And that is something that wasn't done in real life either, as by the time an order could be transferred to the engine room and one engine clutched into reverse you would already be turning the other way. Reversing engines is only used in port, where extremely tight maneuvering can be planned in advance.

And about the individual control, i didnt know that it wasnt done in real life, so i guess that makes me not want it as much...still would be kinda cool to do short radius turns, but ah well, lol

And that is something that definitely was done in real life. When maneuvering in port and when running decks awash.
