I think it's pretty cool! Of course the more traditional ones are functional and good-looking, especially the fancier ones shown in the thread.

On the other hand I haven't worn a wristwatch in more than forty years. Just don't like the feel of the things. My phone has a clock, and while it takes a few extra seconds to dig it out, I also don't need to know the time except when I'm waiting for a bus, so it all works out.

Steve, you're younger than your age would suggest Nowadays pretty much everyone does it like that. It seems like among people my age I'm about the only one who still has a watch

That's what one of the guys in my band keeps saying: "You're the youngest old guy I know!"

I actually kind of like that watch. I like minimalistic designs. The price of that thing would have to come way down before I would consider one, though. My current watch is a Casio G-Shock and cost a lot less than that. Ok, my watch isn't as elegant as the Ziiiro or some of the others in this thread, but it tells the same time.

Since everyone is showin g their watches, I'll show you mine, a Casio edifice, water resistant and robust like it was made in russia, looks good but nothing fancy

Oh, and I have a Citizen watch I use for special occasions, its a little more fancy with a leather belt

I have a friend whose preferred timepiece is an old pocketwatch.

I am most pleased with my Omega Seamaster Professional. Despite not diving any more, I think it has a nice classy but not gaudy look.

I hate men's jewelry as much as men's cologne. The only jewelry I wear is a watch. I tried going with only my cell phone for a while but there are too many times when I am sitting in a class or at a table where digging into my pocket is a pain.

My daily watch, when motorcycle riding and around the house on days off; cheap, reliable, and not flashy, Timex Expedition Resin Case Camper Nylon Strap Watch

My new work watch, which I wear at the hotel, the Danish Skagen 233XLTMB Titanium Watch. Thin, subtle, and a great value.

I have a few other interesting watches, including one of the first Fossil watches, and a whole slew of the USSR Navy & Submarine watches. Those things were like wearing a brick strapped to my wrist

Not a shabby move, a common trick used by muggers is to ask you the time, so you pull out your mobile to see, and they either nick it or have a good look at it and judge its worth so they can mark you as a potential.

Steve, your right though, for most people this is true.

but for others, having a wristwatch may prove to be essential to day to day living.

I generally dont go anywhere without my wristwatch, and in fact i feel incomplete if i forget to put it on when i leave the house... mainly because a wrist watch has been an essential part of my profession for the past 12 years

Not really my taste.

I prefer watches like the one I've currently got:
