SUBSIM wristwatch thread
One of my favorite quips over the years, when seeing a clock with no marks or numbers (just hands) was, "Hey, they make watches & clocks without the minute marks, and they make them without numbers, eventually the darn things will be so fancy they will make them without hands."
It has happened. |
Looks more elegant than those binary LED clocks there are since two years or so. But the colours are too neon, and it is clinical and sterile Apple design.

Can you predict what stocks to invest in so I can make my fortune? :hmmm:

Well, it looks cool, but you'd clearly spend more time looking at it to figure out the time than you would if you asked the person sitting next to you. Overall, that's a pretty silly design, and the red one has an eerie resemblance to the Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odessy.
Do not worry about the time, Dave. |
I like it. I will get one when it goes down in price.

not a chance i would own such a device. it looks like something off a low budget science fiction film.
i need my watch to tell me what time it is accruately, with no BS, no gimmicks. want a classy time piece? I'll take either one of these any day. http://www.smithsonianstore.com/asse...zoom/49012.jpg http://salestores.com/stores/images/.../JR309058L.jpg |
I wear one of these (birthday present from the Mrs.):

I think it's pretty cool! :yeah: Of course the more traditional ones are functional and good-looking, especially the fancier ones shown in the thread.
On the other hand I haven't worn a wristwatch in more than forty years. Just don't like the feel of the things. My phone has a clock, and while it takes a few extra seconds to dig it out, I also don't need to know the time except when I'm waiting for a bus, so it all works out. :sunny: |
Not really my taste.
I prefer watches like the one I've currently got: http://www.creationwatches.com/produ...AA95P1_MED.jpg |

but for others, having a wristwatch may prove to be essential to day to day living. I generally dont go anywhere without my wristwatch, and in fact i feel incomplete if i forget to put it on when i leave the house... mainly because a wrist watch has been an essential part of my profession for the past 12 years :DL |

I actually kind of like that watch. :88) I like minimalistic designs. The price of that thing would have to come way down before I would consider one, though. My current watch is a Casio G-Shock and cost a lot less than that. Ok, my watch isn't as elegant as the Ziiiro or some of the others in this thread, but it tells the same time. :hmmm:

Since everyone is showin g their watches, I'll show you mine, a Casio edifice, water resistant and robust like it was made in russia, looks good but nothing fancy
