Most players always call for realism but with this mod it seems to bother anyone that it is unrealistic in this respect. ![]() But it is W_Clear's decision which type of climate zones he uses in his mod, it should be only a suggestion. |

Since middle of October, I try to convince W_clear to work with a corrected version (no illegal colors) of the following ClimateZones.tga, made by French guy "Astradeus" FOR HIM (see: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=170162)
![]() I try even to convince him to adopt other improvements Astradeus made, like the addition of a suplementary color palette "Temperate_A". I sent to him a sub-mod I builded from Astradeus work and my own work. I offered to help him doing that, but W_clear DON'T WANT TO GO IN THAT DIRECTION and answered "NO" to me. The same happen apparently already much sooner, with the French Guy "Astradeus". This is why, since this time, I continue to develop my own Private version of a sub-mod "ClimateZones ACS" which can be applied over W_clear mod. It has a suplementary "Temperate_A" color palette, which is unfortunately for now, just a copy of W_clear "Temperate" palette. By respect for W_clear, I will make this sub-mod public ONLY IF W_clear GIVE ME HERE THE AUTHORIZATION. But it would be much better that you guys, try to convince W_clear to take the gift "Astradeus" & "ACSoft" have offered to him. ACS EDIT: look what was saying Astradeus to W_clear: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...1&postcount=12 |

How can we convince a chinese guy about anything without knowing his language? Using the translator will complicate things more.
So .. go for it and make your work public. If you will give them full credit for their work, I see no problem at all. The only problem would be to update your stuff every time they change something.. |

Yes, make it public and give W_clear all the credit, honour and thanks that he deserves.
![]() We shall then try to convince him to test it himself and give feedback what he thinks of it. I'll try to put that in very simple English (without French influence ![]() If he still gets annoyed, we must think of a different approach. ![]()

What is a problem to use both mods as:
1. W_clear's Environmental mod 2. Corrected climate zones ![]() If W_clear does not want to work with better climate zones it is his choice. His mod is too much perfect to keep problem with climate zones. ![]()

If it gets included in the MegaMod, then that kind of works too, though ACSoft does make a good point.

AND THIS IS CORRECT You need to use a different "ClimateZones.cfg" and even maybe different "Weather_XXX.cfg" files, to fully take advantage of this better map and re-distribute in the correct way, ALL W_clear colors palettes, to the correct places, all over the world. THIS IS WHAT IS DOING MY CLIMATEZONES SUB-MOD ACS |

ACSoft, let me put it in this way: Imagine that subsim.com is a chinese forum and you try to submit ur work and communicate with the people there through google translate. It would require a lot of patience, trust me. I once tried to see a chinese forum with that tool and I mega failed to understand the topics there.
So do what you wanna do and release it as a separate mod. Maybe then W_Clear will understand the meaning of your words and will integrate it in his mod. My 2 cents. |

@W_clear,
Hello friend! I suggest that you try and test the Climatezones sub-mod of ACSoft. ![]() Forget the old ClimateZones.tga of "Astradeus". That is different and old now. ![]() When you test ACSoft's Climatezones sub-mod, you will see that there are no problems. ![]() I am sure ACSoft will give you the link to his sub-mod. Please try to co-operate. Please try to work together. ![]() We all try to be positive and constructive. ![]()

Are-you saying what you said to me to refuse ?
That the player cannot travel several waters in each patrol ? This is almost what I understood. If it is really what you was trying to say, I don't understand why such an argument would justify to neglect the Climate Zones distribution, ?!? Look at this picture: ![]() This is a REAL patrol I have done, where I was sunk in the middle of the British channel on my way home. 000 = EnvColors_Polar.cfg 020 = EnvColors_Polar_A.cfg 040 = EnvColors_Temperate.cfg 060 = EnvColors_Temperate_A.cfg 080 = EnvColors_Tropical_A.cfg 100 = EnvColors_Tropical.cfg Just with this very plausible patrol, we navigate into 4 of your "waters" (5 with the map design, but color 060 (060=Temperate_A is, for now, equal to 040, your Temperate color). It is not difficult to imagine another patrol going more South and entering in your last color palette 100 = "Tropical". ACS |

I'm guessing that the problem is that one of the biggest problems with his mod was with the climate zones and now its working without crashing. Crashing is probably his biggest concern and he's being asked to change something that's working even though not 100% accurate. He's looking toward the mega mod which includes his and wants it running smoothly. Just my guess though.
