The ejection would have hit us eventually, if it had been directed towards us, and that would have been....interesting. No frying of course, but a good percentage of the worlds electronics would have gone zzt.
IIRC there was a conference in London on dealing with the effects of a large CME hit on the Earths magnetosphere not so long ago. |
