Yep, concur, had it happen dozens of times same issues as D points out.

Ok, thanks. I´m using high compression in the return journey to Pearl.

Is there some mod for have the crew ever with caps/hats?

Best regards.

It's one big PITA. Never tried diving and resurfacing as Steve suggests In SH3, all I would do is drag the guys inside, then back out again. That would fix it. This dosn't work in SH4. As the screenies show, the weather report shows "no precip". That's the problem. The game thinks, the rain has stopped, so the guys don't need the raingear. The other thing that always irked me, as someone mentioned, is the fact that unlike SH3, the sailors in SH4 will not don the foul weather gear unless it is a full blown rain event. The heaviest of seas don't matter. I guess they like getting wet. I always wondered if this was an oversight of the Devs, or dose it have to do with the obvious design differences between Fleetboats and German U boats. Could it be the bridges of Fleetboats stayed more dry than those of the U boats?

I´ll try the diving/surfacing way. The weather report - according Ducimus - seems unsinchronized because the time compression used. I think the report tell "precipitations none" and only wind, the lookouts work without the jackets. The rain we are seeing is an unsinchronized event.

Regards.

Spray is spray no matter what boat your on , U-boat, Fleet Boat, 688, there low to the water and your more than likely to get wet once and a while.

Some test with the relation bad weather jackets - weather report - graphics of weather:

In patrol near Pearl, observe the report: "precipitations heavy"---> bad weather jackets in lookouts. We see the rain (graphics).

No time compression.

Save the patrol and exit the game to desktop.

Run SH4, load the same patrol, the same situation saved with "precipitations heavy". No time compression:

Report: "precipitation none"---> bad weather jackets off----We can see the rain (graphics), but report is without precipitations.

Seems the saving game operation alters the weather situation, change the report, the jackets are after the report, and the graphics don´t change. Please, observe in the report only changes the rain condition: wind, fog, etc, no changes.

I´m not an expert in modding, but I think the key of the problem is in the mode of saving the games. Is there some cfg file, or other, where the situational data of saved games (pos., weather, time, etc.) is saved?.

Only a idea...

Regards.

Like I said, this also happens with SH3. Diving and resurfacing always works for me.

With this one I gave up a long time ago diving/surfacing etc and just call it "strange weather" instead.

I figure if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So, in my help file I added the reminder:

Ctrl+N Resets strange weather

Instant correction. After a couple watch changes the seas pick back up, SH4 returns to normal, and the crew are dressed appropriately.

To be fair, I avoid all contact with enemy shipping for 16 hours.

Happy Hunting!
