that would definitely be a prop guard.
it would keep the screws from swinging into the wharf. also, to keep from sucking in nets and mine cables. I've seen similar guards on battleships and destroyers.

well, if the engines still run, they are going to have trouble a couple of them up.
Our very own Ivank flooded them. ![]() I talked him out of flipping the lever all the way over to the start position. But I'm sure that they thought of that way in advance. Lionfish is located in Fall River, Massachusetts (the one state everyone misses on their spelling quizzes ![]() along with a plethora of other ships
