I agree. I dream of a chance to vote FOR a candidate rather than vote AGAINST a candidate.

One of these days... one of these days

No I'm still a registered Democrat but all that means is that I can vote in Democratic Primaries. Some states you can vote in any party's primary or caucus some can't (NY is one).

Which I see as a good thing, means I can vote to nominate Democratic candidates that I like in a mostly Democrat state.

Although for this years special election for senate I'm leaning Rep because I feel one of their candidates is more middle of the road than the Dems.

Me too. I voted for Eric Massa and was glad he was reelected. To bad he was forced to resign- partly due to his salty sea talk...

"There is no doubt in my mind that I did in fact, use language in the privacy of my own home and in my inner office that, after 24 years in the navy, might make a Chief Petty Officer feel uncomfortable."

... that makes me like him more!

What that means is the government of the day be that labour or conservatives or even what we have now a coalition of the conservatives with the liberals will do sweet sod all until the lazy people of this country get off there fat asses, and that day will never come.

If people don't make the effort they get what they deserve, times I have told people MP's are there to work for them so get writing and see them.

One of the big problems that makes us Brits sit on our arses, is the non-elected coalition that seems to contradict itself depending on whether a Tory or a LiB-Dem makes the sound-bite!

Also the fact that the government is welding an Axe to public spending when a scapel is needed - don't get me wrong, i'm a socialist by choice but, Gordon Brown pissed me off with his "prudence" budgets - so called "saving for a rainy day" and all that, so when that rainy day comes along (now!!) and we don't have public pot to pee in, it makes it slightly difficult to give a Sh*t!!

Apothetically yours,

Kaleun

Correct to get action in the Westminister system the puiblic have to make the lives of their MP's difficult to prod them into action. Writing to them phoning them and meeting with them encourages them to understand that you are not happy with what they are doing. If you do nothing nothing will change.
