Why does everyone always go back to the hackneyed and flawed car analogy?

I'm desperate - can't find all the current patches for SH5 in the web. I just bought and installed the game, for a reason I don't know it doesn't even try to update itself, and it's version 1.05. Please point a noob to a secure source of all the patches I'll need to apply. Thanks.

EDIT: I'm also lost as I can't figure out what's the latest patch for the game. Some people on the Forums mention patch 1.2, but the only one I see on the Ubisoft downloads page is 1.1... (http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.asp...wnload&dcId=63). Why don't they have a download section on the game site is beyond my ability to understand.

Look in X:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater\

('X' being the drive you installed to. Default should be 'C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\..')

You'll find 'gu.exe' in there; it's the updater. Run it and it should download and prompt you to install the patch.

Im going comment

there are jobs where u have to get it right the first time or people may die. There is very little room for "oh we will fix that later" in my line of work.So yes I hold others to the same standard for the most part..That includes UBI and yes those who make cars..I work in the ER and half ass jobs or excuses for poor work dont fly.. If I can function at a high standard for 12 hours a day and get the job done right the first time then anyone can..I have many faults but when it comes to work and my children there is no room for " its ok we will fix it later".....UBI done a poor job on ssh5 and there is no excuse for that..
