I am writing you today as an average video game consumer. I'm 32 years old. I'm a father. And I have little to no hair.

Somebody give this guy a prize. I enjoyed reading it and hope Ubi gets the message.

I have to agree. You have to think of this letter as a persuasive argument. Your opening statement is everything. It has to intrigue the reader to read further.

The opening statement was poor, it did not garner intrigue or interest. The rest, as a result, can be summarized as "TLDR". Your opening statement makes or breaks the rest.

OP, you have to remember, your writing to a big corporation, that gets a ton of emails to sift through. IMO, you needed to be Clear, concise, to the point, yet heartfelt. It shouldn't have been larger then two or three paragraphs. (edit: maybe 3 or 4, but certainly not a 2 page essay)

I would be very surprised if you got anything but a canned response back, if any response at all.

Seeing as how they've probably gotten several thousand
'WTF is this garbage you duped us with?'
type letters/e-mails?

Someone just MIGHT read the entire thing.
And tomorrow?
I MIGHT hit the Lottery.

But if you don't play?
You don't Win.

So it's a worthy effort.

I have to admit I wrote the letter more as a way to vent some frustration rather than to elicit a response from the giant megacorp. I too would be surprised if I ever personally hear back from anyone at Ubi on this subject.

But I felt really good right after I hit the "send" button.

"TAKE THAT UBI!" I said as I reveled in myself.

Even if they did respond, I'd probably be like, "What's that UBI? I'm sorry. I couldn't hear you over how awesome I am."

Yeah, I really am that cool.

*cough*

(even without hair)

Skookum,

Did you email or hand write the letter? Which one will make a bigger impact/and or ensure that it at least gets looked at or read. Few years ago I worked for a large software company as a Systems Analyst so worked a lot with customer service and tech support (not to mention first several years that I was able to work were all customer service based jobs) and my friend was the manager or the tech support department. While he was a good manager and liked by all his employees, the amount of email he gets is usually too much to handle each day. On the other hand, anything that came in the mail he always read it.

Aside from the fact that people rarely use the mail anymore to send letters, managers take these kinds of messages (good or bad) more seriously - largely because the person took the time to sit down and use pen and paper to write everything out. Despite the convenience of email they still went out of their way to write us a letter of thanks, etc. If you don't get any kind of response (wouldn't be surprised) I'd re-write the letter and mail it to them. Emails are easy to hide or ignore, when other people see hand written mail it gets noticed by others as its so unusual to see these days.

Gee, you could have saved me all that money on Rogaine.

But seriously this letter encapsulate what most of us feel. I just hope they don't spoil Oleg Maddox Battle of Britain.

Well,
Getting into my 50's?
I'm not losing hair on my head.
It just grows in different places now I've found.
When 27?
I had no hair growing out my nose.
Now I do!

I had no hair growing out my ears.
Now I look like something out of Star Wars if I don't pluck the hairs!

At 27?
I had a forehead.
Now I have a sevenhead!

I'm thinking my ponytail is pulling my hairline back?
