I have been thourgh exactly the same situation. The weather was great, wind at 4 m/s, as I was tracking a merchant though the periscope, then front of me, a cloud bank was getting closer and the merchant was sailing right into it, as it sailed into the storm, it instantly disappears. Using the sonar, I made a rough estimate of where the torp should go to get this ship, and amazingly, the SO had reported that the ship had sunk.

I was not as lucky when it happened to me.
Chasing a merchant for most of the night when it was clear, only to lose track of him when a rainstorm came over us and him just before dawn. ![]()

On several occasions I had weather changes, usually for the worse. The other day, it changed from ragin storm to plscid lake in a matter of minutes. A bit unrealistic for waves to die so quickly. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant experience.

I have never seen the weather change. I did not know you could even see it. I assumed it changed whenever you were below decks.
That would be really cool to watch a storm roll in. Steve |
