Are there any fixes in the Uboat expansion?

Update on my current situation: I bought and installed the SHIV Uboat expansion even though I never play Uboats. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and have not had a single crash to desktop in this campaign. Wonder why? Right after I bought and installed the Uboat expansion I played and crashed and then gave up for a while. I started my current campaign in Jan 44' in a Balao. It seems that if I skip 1943 and/or Gato boats my system is not going to crash. So anyone.... Why is 1943 and Gato boats so crash happy? BTW I am in May 1945 and still going.

Is there a fix for Gato boats available? a fix for 1943?
