There...it looks much better now....thanks for all the replies and special help.

Now if only I could find a periscope mod that will work with 1.4b that looks as good as in Rubini's posted shot...I would be in subsim heaven.

I know going to GWX would provide one but I want to play a career in 1.4b first. I have GWX downloaded and ready to apply when I'm ready.

You have a similar problem to me, the vertical is egg shaped, my screen ratio is 16:10, 1360x768 shows round on 16:9 monitors though, Seeadler pointed this out.

Yeah it is a bit egg shaped....but it isn't too awfully bad. I can live with it in order to get the sharp image. I'm quite happy.

( Off Topic)One thing I noticed is that the writing in Notepad and labeling of the buttons and controls are all in German in one of my screen shots and in English for my other.

Now what on earth (or file) would cause that, I wonder?...

I really like the German but I don't know which file caused it to change back and forth like that.

...and though the sharp image is still with me, the language has reverted once again to English.

EDIT: ....and this morning another unsolicited reversion. Back to German again. Which is fine and what I want. Hope it stays this time.

please, can someone point me to the 1280x800 files (if there are any).
This looks very promising and I hope it isn't abandoned and I recently installed SH3 as I recall it being better in some ways. But I forgot that SH3 doesnt have "native" widescreen support. The first post said something about guidelines to do it yourself, but the guidelines skips the most important parts (I think. I couldnt get it to work)
