Whatever, if any, information is passed for public consumption won't be true. The 'security' forces are pretty tight-lipped.

Every nation spies on every other nation, friend and foe. Some get caught.

Even the evidence at trial will likely have sections that are 'classified' and 'restricted' so that we won't get much in the news.

That would kinda defeat the purpose of security.

The whole idea is for the protected information NOT to be released to unauthorized people.

Sorry, I meant the area of type of information they were dealing in ie: missile systems, radar, electronics etc. A generalised overview.

Economic espionage is very much en vogue, and some say it has led to even more spionage activity than during the cold war.

And no, it does not stop at the claimed allied/befriended nation's door. Germany's biggest spionage problems in the economic field are China, Russia, Israel (!) and - the US (!!).
