Gentlemen
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/us_...a/10442223.stm
Been a while since the States has had their own spy bust. Russia will howl. :yep: |
While the title "Gentleman" doesn't fit me. :haha:
I had to post if for no other reason for a chuckle. The big joke is we only give them 5 yrs in prison. |
As we say, while there may be friendly nations, there are no friendly intelligence services.
|
Nothing strange about that.
Spying is as old as prostitution...:D |
We were well overdue for one of these incidents.
|
I didn't catch what exactly they were spying on? (what kind of info they were interested in?)
|
'Conspiracy to act as unlawful agents of a foreign government' and 'Conspiracy to launder money' have to be the best accusations I've ever heard anyone being accused of!
|
I wonder if a detailed investigation will lead to a disclosure of what information they passed on?

Economic espionage is very much en vogue, and some say it has led to even more spionage activity than during the cold war.
And no, it does not stop at the claimed allied/befriended nation's door. Germany's biggest spionage problems in the economic field are China, Russia, Israel (!) and - the US (!!). ;) |

Don't believe it

Every nation spies on every other nation, friend and foe. Some get caught. Even the evidence at trial will likely have sections that are 'classified' and 'restricted' so that we won't get much in the news. |
