End of voyage way point, when ships reach there final way point they go "poof!" It has been around since SHIII & IV. That's why I never camp near a harbor.

Rememeber someone posted a screenshot of a convoys last way point where the ships had not been set to 'de-spawn' it was cluttered harbour with a huge 'pile up' of vessles, literally!
