begin at the begining - start with WW1

i feel there is not so much more one can do with WW2. once SH5 is fully functional in a few years time - it is finished. after that it can only be add-ons through super mods like GWX et al.

go for fresh. the history around WW1 subs sims is relatively new: can you imagine the graphics and game play!

Hmmm yeah modern warfare and the high tech stuff we have now is nearly useless against what we are fighting now.
What we need now is X-ray vision to see the bombs strapped under the clothing of some poor bastard who has no life and has no reason to live, and every reason to die and leave his no life life behind.

Nuclear subs? Another word for millons of dollars thrown out into the ocean, with nobody to fight out there.

Would love to patrol Russian waters from our of a Norwegian naval base... but is this really what the SH franchise is all about?

Question 2: do we want, or need, another SH?

What makes you so sure there will be another SH title? It could very well be SH5 is the end of the road for the series.

Fact is, its impossiable to go modern if your a average game producer.

First its has a smaller buyer group, and two, Where are you going to get the information on submarines/ships, ya think the german/american/russian navy is just gonna say "oah here, take are infromation of are submarine, yea, some of its classified but who gives a S***. Plus, we dont know how a moden sub will perform in real combat.

The (RPG) developers of SH5 also not really know that about German Uboot's.

These two recent Gamespot stories on Ubisoft may spell the end for SH...

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6262887.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=hot-stories&tag=hot-stories%3Btitle%3B1

and

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6262941....ed-content%3B4

Looks like CEO Yves is still burying his head in the sand on how DRM has affected sales and to say that a faster turnaround will improve the quality of franchise titles???? Oh yeah that worked wonders for SH5! Hopefully "our team" has not been reassigned to work on the MMOGs.

Ubisoft really seems to be adopting the worst practices of the gaming industry as a whole.

He and his company would do a lot better if they listened to their customers & communicated more regularly with them!

"Guillemot said, and the company is reorganizing its studio system "to release new iterations of our major franchises on a more regular basis and guarantee high quality levels."

Ubisoft and high quality levels, a contradiction in terms!

Sometime between 'never' and 'when hell freezes over'.

Or maybe I'm being overly optimistic.
