I would be careful about treading these waters. Over in the SHV Forum we had a very heated debate (spanning 3 or so threads) in regards to a cracked game, why thread discussing crack was closed and so on.

Like it or not this Forum blanches at the mention of a pirated game or cracked game. So if you have any troubles with this I'd PM a Moderator or something instead of proclaiming to the world about this.

Just be careful Wouldn't want you to get Brig Time for an innocent mistake

I don't see this issue, provided the purchase was made unknowingly AND the software is not used. I wouldn't destroy the disc because it is evidence of piracy.

If you purchase a cd under the assumption of validity, then ask others the problem and learn it is pirated does not mean you are guilty of blatant and intentional piracy. It does mean you are out a few bucks with a junk cd. Sorry mate.

What is peaking my curiosity is the issue of the authentic cd. It is not possible to change files on a CD-R or DVD-R. So how did the seller change files on a frozen media, unless he printed off an actual SH4 cd.

that is my 0.02

Default back to the point

So all that about pirate this and that ... whatever.... back to the question at hand here... where can you find and engage an enemy sub?

bump hulls is a good way!
I would think if they are surfaced either visual or sonar. Maybe radar too...

submerged only if they are cranking more than 100 rpm

I suppose multiplayer would be the best way to go sub vs. sub.

Get a clean copy of SH4, it doesn't cost much.

You could add some to the campaign using the SH4 mission editor. However, I've tried to make missions in the past involving enemy subs and they've not been very successful.

As far as I remember, the stock game doesn't really let you do any damage to subs, I recall firing at a sen toku sub and watching it just bounce around in the water, taking no damage. Similar experiences using a u-boat against fleet boats.

This was some time ago, so that may have changed, but I think that's the situation at least in stock.

I have seen a mod in the downloads section which makes the sen toku destroyable, but haven't yet been able to try it.

Subs have to be converted to ships in order for them to even move. Once you do that then you can use them in missions. They are in some of the mods.

As per forum rules, i think we should all get banned. I mean we are doing something worst than pirates. We are flat out sinking any enemy ship we come across. At least pirates sometimes left the crew to leave on a life raft and took the ship.

And than someone just mentions a hint about "real" piracy and it's bye bye.

OK, sorry. Sarcasm off

Enemy subs... hmmm... where are you hiding little one?

Well, I don't know about you, but I didn't see him go bye, bye. Just explaining the situation so he won't go bye, bye.

Ok, sarcasm back on.

Now let me think where would a sub hide.....hmmmm....looked in all the trees.....looked up in the sky.......hmmmmm.....that's a tough one.
