Belive me, I do, just that I was playing in the early war years and hadn't seen a plane (while in stock SHIII, you do have spitfires and a occasional Swordfish showing up the day after the war starts) and i wanted to see if this was due to design (as GWX had thought of the Battle for Britian) or if there is a bug in the install. From what people have said, it appears that this is by design.

I dive whenever I see a warship or plane, it is the best way to stay alive since I play DiD. The only question is how deep the water is, so I know if it is a regular dive or a crash dive.

The aircraft in GWX3.0 are harder to shoot down than any previous version to date.

If you sight a Swordfish it usually means there is a carrier not too far away.

Best advice: BEWARE OF GWX AIRPLANES even in early years.

Man, had my first sighting of an aircraft this last patrol, in 39. No hesitation for this guy to come in and strafe me, and then for him to drop a bomb which just missed me. Scary day.

Same here - it was October '39 I'd just sunk a ship and saw the life boats. In full role player mode I decided to sail towards the lifeboats and offer supplies (in my head lol) 10 mins later as I was leaving a Blenhem drops a bomb on me! Ended up with 87% hull integrity

Wont be doing that again

This is odd In 4 different careers going from August 39-December 1940, I've not seen a single plane on any patrol around the UK.

Not seen any since - probably just a question of luck I guess , with a dash of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Mostly they seem to be concentrated up near Scotland and the Shetland Island, and never anything more than a couple of Swordfish or a recon/bomber type.
