"Illegal" does not mean "criminal". For instance, if one were to be guilty of jaywalking, they would have done something illegal. However, they would not have committed a crime.

"Illegal" simply means something contrary to the law. "Criminal" pertains specifically to that which is an offense against a criminal code, or criminal law.

Again, this is why I support Arizona's law. I believe that being an illegal immigrant should be criminal.

Sounds like splitting hairs but i'm all for cracking down on the problem.
