Exactly, an experienced, paid dev team that developed this game from scratch have taken this long to fix a small part of what the modders have already fixed!
It's sad times we live in at the moment.
Every time I visit gaming forums a small part of the gamer in me dies.

Yes but what the devs are doing is at the core coded level, the very heart of things as it were. Not just what's accessable to us. And it all has to be tested over and over and then reworked again.

Now our fine and generous modders are awesome, no denying that. But they are working with an existing game which has been built from nothing, with a game engine which was already built.
And there is a very large difference between modding, and developing fom scratch.
Compare it to making modifications to an already built house, to building the house itself. it took a lot more work and time and people to build that house, but to make modifcations to that house requires only a few people, and only a few pieces of work here and there.
So it's one thing to mod, and quite another to design, develop and build.

Thank you Kylania for the update.
You assuming it's is 'this' May 11th?

I noticed that too. Whilst it's common for fix lists not to include all fixes (usually small fluff isn't listed), it's not common to remove fixes from the fix list once they're there unless, well...

Can someone ask the Russians that got the patch already, if they are able to add new subs yet?

I don't see this in the list of fixes either, but it was noted on the German ubi forum that 1.2 was going to have this?

You know I normally try to avoid negative posts but well - such a long time to wait for so little in the way of a patch!

Sure Ubi and the developers must be thanked for their efforts - though I wonder if there will be any continuing support for the game after this -

This is really a little paltry - considering the woefull state of the game

On a lmore positive note I wonder if any one at Ubi can confirm - were there enogh global sales of this game to merit future add-ons or patches or is this Good Night And Close?

The modders are keeping me interested, just, the publishers dont seem to give a dam

Best Regards to Subsimmers

I think, imho, it will be curtains...
there are more lucrative games under their licence,
the newest list of fixes has decreased (seemingly),
as kylania said in another thread, their other game releases have attained numerous patches already,
a lot more support than SH5...
not looking good.

Maybe the Devs ran into problems with the patch..... But as it was taking soooo long they dropped the items that they were having problems with. And hopfully will be working on the items dropped from the patch list, next.
Lets hope that the support will continue.

Well we can only hope. Although i must admit, its not looking promising.

what puts me of is the fact that it took 2 more weeks and there is no changes in the patch contents whatsoever. I thought some things would be added to the patch. I see none whatsoever. I mean comeon what have they been doing ? been on holiday devs while leaving the patch for what it is? I thought at leasts the the VIIB conning model would be fixed to be more historical. I also have strong feelings that after this patch will be the last.

Maybe, as the ever optimist that I am, they've started working on Silent Hunter 6?

I hope not......

It would be a NO SALE from me.

If they cant finish SH5 first then what chance would 6 have. (yes i know 4 was not finnished, but i gave them the benifit of the doubt with 5. Wont be giving them the benifit of the doubt again).

5 need alot more work / addons....

Patches to fix bugs.

Addons - more Subs.
and war continuation til 45.
