It's official: It's not coming out any time soon:

http://translate.googleusercontent.c...-RQ#5631097458

I'm hoping the "no longer being released" is a mistranslation of "not today"...

Is this real? Can't find words how fustrated I feel now... I really like this game, even with it's flaws, but this patch bulls&#t is something I just don't understand. And this is the first time ever I've been actually waiting for a patch for any game. Feel so disappointed now...

Obviously they have found some issues with the fixes that make it inelligible for release. Do you really think they get up every morning thinking of ways to upset you? D

Both Subsim.com and the Ubi forums are already full of clever posters talking about how the new patch will probably be full of new bugs. So when they take some extra time to try to make sure this doesn't happen what is the reaction? People start complaining that they can't get a patch that clearly wasn't ready for release.

You can't have it both ways people. Either you can roast Ubisoft for rushing the game out in an incomplete fashion, or you can roast them for not rushing out a patch that would be in the same condition. Which is it?

Think it over and get back to me.

That is a fair point but when does patience run out and anger take it's place? I really am annoyed although I acknowledge, anger is going to get me nowhere. Quite frankly, the game should have come out complete, it shouldn't have been sold as a complete game when in reality we were charged for beta testing it.
I also understand that sometimes things can get missed so a patch is required but if it is promised on a certain time then it should be delivered. I'm a patient kind of guy so I can understand the fact that maybe something came up at the last minute last time but for it to happen again is either one of the following:
Incompetence
contempt for the customer
or both

In no other business on Earth would this kind of service be acceptable, it is as simple as that

Are those really the only two possibilites that you can think of?

Really?

Well basically, yeah. There may be variations of those but they still come down to those two

Mmmmh, wait just a minute, so they have decided to make ONE good and polished patch to finish the game as it should have been when released ?

Let me think about it ... this will take months !!

Why not release a stable 1.2.5 patch this week along a list of known remaining issues.
So we "casual testers" can actualy help with more feedback for a next 1.3.5 patch rather than staying here without any informations on what's going on.

Personnaly I would be more than happy to help you guys out, I feel so lonely and useless and also I hate waiting in the dark not knowing where I am going?

If that is not possible, please be at least more communicative with us poor lonesome kaleuns.

Anyway keep up the good work.

It is fairly evident that this company, or at least this business unit of the company, does not know how to run a software development project. Whatever happened to under promise over deliver? It's a good bet that they don't have the "A" team working on this patch and the project manager is pretty much clueless as to their capabilities.

The guiding principles of the Montgomery Scott School of Project Management:
1. When the client asks for a new project, even when the specs are clear, deny the possibility of the task being able to be accomplished.
2. If pressed, multiply by 4 (or 8) the amount of time you think it might take.
3. When it only takes you twice as much time as you originally estimate, you will come out ahead by a factor of two (or four).

I will see your "Space-Guys in their Jammies" quote and raise you one from the Ubisoft Q3 Financial statement...

Clearly they don't have a clue about how to run a software development project.

And this Project Manager is an actual person (as opposed to a character on a bad 60's sci-fi program) and is a friend of mine so you might want to think twice about slandering someone who you have never even met.

Given the amount and quality of support for the US players with regards to their forums, website updates, fixes to the game and timely communication, yes. Yes I do think they get up every morning thinking of ways to upset me.

Oh well, I'm off to track down some convoys. At least this game is in playable state. I just wish the patch will be out someday...

the google-translation is not correct. In the german version it says the that the patch is no longer released today. In german it says "Leider muß ich euch mitteilen, dass der Patch heute nicht mehr released werden wird. " The keyword missing in the google-translation is "heute", meaning "today".

From what I understand, the Patch release date is now cancelled as the patch is not in a workable state. Ubisoft will henceforth let us know, I hope, when a workable Patch 1.2 will be available for release.
Whatever the case, it's not a very good state of affairs.
