Delete the de text
Is replaced by the 1.4 patch anyway and for some reason is a common error in updating |

Deleting the problem file worked. It did not occur to me the deleting the file would not cause other problems. Thanks for the help. SWX3 is now loaded and working fine as well.

If you have successfully installed GWX over your stock SH3 game, you don't have to do anything to enable it. It's there, baby!
If you're talking about the optional GWX mods in your new MODS folder, there is detailed info on all of them in your GWX user manual. Personally I won't sail without Integrated Orders. I also like the Enhanced Damage mod, and used the 16K Atmosphere mod before I started experimenting with environmental mods from other sources. Be aware, though, that some of those mods - the 16K Atmo, for instance - will increase the demands on your system. The basic GWX install was specifically designed with the original SH3 system specs in mind, but that's not necessarily the case with optional mods that come with it (or any other mods, for that matter). Which is why you should read about them in the manual to see which ones you want, and then experiment to see which ones you like and which ones don't overload your rig (if that's an issue you're even concerned about). |

Here's a stupid question from someone who presumably should know better: What exactly does Integrated Orders do? It's the one mod I've never seen adequately explained, even in the manual.

I never played much stock or GWX without IO, so specific examples are hard to come up with. But in general what I see that it's doing is making more "order" options immediately available when you click on each of the officer icons.
Also all the icons that do come up when you click on your officers come up right above them for quicker access with the mouse. IIRC in both stock and GWX w/o IO, some groups of icons would come up in the lower middle portion of the screen instead and were noticeably bigger than the IO versions. Considering that they tend to stay onscreen until you click elsewhere, it kinda obscured more of the view than was really necessary. |
