NOTE TO TROLLS: Note this thread. Note it well! Here we have disagreement among individuals that didn't result in name-calling and hostility. Getting to be an unusual event around here...unfortunately !

Less a disagreement than a misunderstanding that was discussed and made to be an understanding. This thread feels like adults communicating and understanding each other. It's refreshing in the midst of what has become a lot of hostile attitudes as of late.
I, for one, appreciate civil discourse as found here.
Well played, good sirs.

ubisoft will remain successful just from console sales even if thier pc markets fall off. if they give up on the pc market it will be the loss of more pc titles for us pc gamers, and thats a sad thing.

I think people are becoming irritable because summer is just around the corner!!! Personally can't wait till i'm playing SHV with a Cuba Libre sat in the back garden, soaking up some rays!!!

Everyone makes mistakes no matter how slight, life would be boring otherwise and there would be nothing for us to discuss.......Notice I said discuss instead of argue about. I would think most of us virtual skippers are older than the real thing and its great to behave our age and debate instead of argue, makes this forum a much more welcoming and friendly place

Are you really convinced it will be a loss?? I presently can't see any loss that I wouldn't expect another competitor to pick up in a while after Ubi withdrew... Or do you think submarine games would have disappeared because Microprose gave up sometime after Silent Service II, or Sierra after Aces of the Deep? No, in fact with each new publisher new milestones arrived. Just patience...

when MS went blank on the CFS line, we all got in deep s**t. only il.2 was left, which i'd call a fairly well done ARCADE. so since 2005, I'VE NEVER GOT A DAMN CHANCE TO USE A JOYSTICK anymore.

we still got to meditate. drm is unfair only from the pow of a consumer who lives in a sad contry (mine) with high internet fees. from the pow of a corp., stopping pirates is the first aim, at [B]any cost[B]. if we love the serie we shall talk to 'em, then if we fail we'll take arms and march or wait until pricesìll drop under 6$ and all the "patches" and addons are out.

sh5 campaing proves to be really immersive and a step on, so..

good things to those who wait.

Net earnings halved isn't a good sign. Share price drop will likely follow soon before or after the official records are announced.

29/4 if I remember correctly. Ubisoft will probably have an hard time explaining why other operators in the videogaming industry actualkly inreased their margins in 2009, despite the worldwide crisis, and they didn't. Personally, I think DRM is only the proverbial drop that made water spill out of the vase. Ubisoft software quality went down the drain in past years.

Who cares? If they go under, and that's a very, very big if, will we really miss them?

After all the rage, and angst displayed on here after the release of SH5, I cannot see too many being overly concerned as to the fate of Ubisoft. After all, this may well be the last game in the series in any case, especially when you consider the reception it received.
