I haven't tried it yet, but I thought Dan mentioned that once you unlock a campaign area, you can start a career from there. So once you unlock the Med/Atlantic career split, you actually have the ability to do both.
What I don't know is if the stats from your first part of the career carry over, they may not. Actually... they probably don't......... Great story, Westbroek.
