No, but now it's hung synchronizing games. Granted this is from work and I've played the heck out of it from home, but still shouldn't take this long.

John,

1) Certain Hack Groups have announced already last week that they are going to do this. UBI should have been prepared.

2) It's not yet even proven that this is indeed a DDOS, certainly I don't believe their "95%" number so why should I believe their excuse?

3) Even if it is a DDOS attack, it simple shows that UBI servers are vulnerable and instable - such attacks are simple part of the environment, they happen for Wold of Warcraft, Steam and all other major online systems. A good system has to be able and deal with such things.

4) If it wasn't a DDOS attack today, it might be server maintainance tomorrow, or a power outage the month afterwards. Or an interconnection problem on any number of routers between you and them.

This simple proves how idiotic a system is that requires an offline singleplayer game mode to be connected online. Because if they didn't insist on something that is technically not possible (a 100% flawless, working, ever reliable connection between your client and their server) it wouldn't matter what happens on UBI's end at all, where we as paying customers have zero technical influence.

it's VERY frustrating I'm just about fed up with it.

Why couldn't they at least made the tools not part of the login crap? That way I could at least fire up the editor to edit the UI I'm working on.....

Well, now I'm getting the password error. YAY

Wonder if UbiSoft will try to claim it's only 5% of the player base this time too.

Same here!
Yesterday it hanged, today this. If I used the words I liked for describing my feelings about ubi, I'd banned immediately from this forum.

Got it.

For a customer, the product has to be functional. Simple as that. Or return it against refund.

The customer doesn't have to take any responsibility for a company not providing a functional product. Not matter what reason. If Ubi goes to war against pirates, or other competitors or whatever entities that now possibly leads to the OSP problems, then it is in Ubisofts responsibility to get along with that and restore functionality.

On top of that, who again confirmed the DNS attacks? Or is yesterday's statement correct that it was an unexpected volume of customers accessing services? Now, if you classify a customer as attacker, then the other statement is true too. I find it hard to believe anybody would target a small gaming company with a DNS attack...

Same here, all of a sudden I can´t log in anymore.

Seriously, I´d love to sue Ubisoft for this. I bought a product that I cannot use when I want to. I´m glad Ubi doesn´t produce cars. Considering the situation I wonder if it really was illegal if someone developed a crack now, since it would only give me back what I legally purchased. Anyway, I´m through with DRM. This "anti piracy" issue is a kick in the a** of the ordinary customer.

Cheers, AS

Well, well, well...
looks like a lot of peoples worries have been proven right after all. I have to say I was always slightly sceptical about all the perceived problems that people were bitching about.
My only concern was if it would run OK on a mobile broadband connection, which it was doing until today.

I'm gutted, mainly because I'd settled down earlier this evening having installed 2 fine mods over the last couple of days, trying them out in the 'historical missions' beforehand I was ready to start my first ever SH5 campaign, alas, it is not to be.
£27 worth of DVD sat in my drive which at this moment in time would serve me better as a Pizza slicer. FAIL!!!

nope, not really. The game has already been cracked (I've got a good friend very active in the piracy/hacking scene).
He too told me the UBI server fail is likely caused by DOS attacks by pirates (possibly even integrated into the hack so that everyone who uses the hack in fact DOS attacks the UBI servers)

This is NOT because the pirates are angry because they can't crack the new OSP since they already have. It is just a form of protest against the new DRM system.

That friend of mine I was talking about usually buys his games, but he refuses to buy games with the new OSP so instead pirates them.

Myself, I've got a legal uncracked version but I'm almost sorry for that cause even if the UBI servers DO work OSP nearly makes the game unplayable for me
