Right now, it is indeed Ubisofts fault, because they can't adequately protect their own servers, that their customers are tethered to. The failure of those servers, regardless of what data is being sent to it, IS on Ubi's shoulders.

As for me, this is my only and final straw. I'll play this game (when i can ) since i have i, but i am not investing a single minute more in modding it. Any modder probably hits their login servers 5 X more then your average user. You have to because many adjustments made, you have to completely restart the game for them to take effect so you can gauge how their working. A modder needs to be able to get into the game, quickly, cleanly, and on demand. It's a time consuming process, and this DRM garbage makes even more time consuming. No thank you, the frustration is not worth it to me.

Got it.

my head hurts

I personally don't appreciate being dragged into a fight between the two. This was a foreseeable possibility and as a paying customer, I would expect Ubisoft to not get me involved.

So, yeah, I do think Ubisoft should share the blame.

Ubisoft Says Server Downtime Due To Attacks

Quote:
Ubisoft have told Eurogamer that yesterday’s DRM server outages were caused by external attacks, and that they did not affect 95% of players. “Servers were attacked and while the servers did not go down, service was limited from 2.30pm to 9pm Paris time,” they explained to the big EG. They also apologise to those who were affected by this, explaining that they represented only 5% of players. This adds a sense of scale to the statements made by the Ubisoft community manager yesterday. It also acts as a confirmation from Ubisoft that their new DRM system is vulnerable to DOS attacks, meaning they are unable to ensure customers can play their single-player games.

Color me skeptical

We have reports from people all over the world with different type of problems... Servers sending updates and then freezing, people being kicked out, logins not accepted.

This does not look like a DDoS attack.

Add to this Ubisoft wonderful damage control. First they say it's 5% of european gamers, then they say it's solved only to put out a statament, soon after, that it's really a DDoS attack.

Placing the blame on vengeful hackers... how convenient.

It's always other people fault. Liars and spinners rule the world economy. That's what you get with public companies. Everything done for the sake of the shares and bonus compensations. Take the money and run.

Default Username and password prob

For 3 hours this pm I was unable to play because of inability to connect with UBI server when in fact my internet connection was fine.
Managed to get 1 hour of play later but now when I try to play I get a "username/password error which is nonsense as I have been playing for 2 days before with same info.
This really is a total shambles and UBI need to remove this ludicrous system which they are clearly incapable of operating properly and we who have paid are suffering this total mess wasting our time and money.
UBI you need to act quickly to end this disgrace . It is in fact a criminal offence to sell a product which is not fit for its purpose ---and if it cannot be used by the purchaser it is not fit for purpose.
Yes Im damned angry at this appalling situation ......

Just to clarify something. SUBSIM is not owned or run by Ubi. It is a private concern.
The official UBI SH5 site is here - http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/1121062387

Where do they get the 5% figure from ?
Couldnt play yesterday afternoon and still cant
Now its wrong username or password even though ticked to remember me

As Ducimus correctly stated you can forget modding under these circumstances
Just to be able to play would be a bonus ATM
