The best article on the topic ever written. It really sets things in perspective.

Old news.
![]() Overall impression is that writer tends to be biased, to say the least (in favor of the game publishers). Since I'm not a publisher, but a victim of the draconian anti piracy methods of that publisher I cannot agree with him. So I'm boycotting all games that prevent me from playing off line. No SH5 for me then. ![]()

I'm a victim of it because of the built in OSP/DRM.
![]() It prevents me from buying it because I refuse to pay for an off line game that forces me to be on line while playing it And also for many other reasons which I've posted in several other threads.

![]() Quote:
Really ? How can you take the article seriously when the author states that back in day he used to copy Amiga games "just because he could", and then goes on to rave about internet piracy. Nothing has changed other than the medium. People don't copy games anymore, they share it on the web. And to put things in perspective, the Amiga gaming scene was destroyed, completely obliterated by pirates, the people that copied games just because they could. So the author of the article has no kind of legitimization to pontificate about modern piracy and making it seem like they (old and modern) piracy are 2 different things motivated by different reasons. Hint : They're not. Epic Fail. |
