The overall look is lush, and everything looks a little softened and gives a great atmosphere.
I haven't got internet access on my gaming computer and do you know what, "i don't care" with stuff this good for SH3, thanks Rik and those that have gone before.
Thank, Great you appreciate it!

At least use the env-color files as well as they are related to the scene-file. GWX's scene file is incompatable with WAC's env-color files (and other way around).

Quick question: does this incorporate the original environments, or do I need to also activate them with JSGME?

For example: if I download SH5 Water for 20km Environment, do I deactivate Hitman's 20km Environment, or does it need to stay active?

Thanks!

Good question. I love the water, but my env is 10k or less. I have dumped the 20k and the 16k from GWX and loaded this water mod....still no dice. If I remove the SH5 water mod and re-insert 20k...it works. For some reason the SH5 water mod (20k version) just won't work

Well.. I tested it the same way as Hitman tested it to prove it is 20 Km and results were the same:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=152251

Of course I used Hitman's scene file as a starter. So I am curious about your expectations for what a 20 Km mod should do. I noticed with Hitman's mod that the 3D model of the atmosphere is actually the same as the 16 Km one.

It replaces the 20 Km environment. I used the 20 Km environment and adjusted the colors and wave parameters into it.

Well..not sure if it is working or not. Normally without the SH5 water mod I do not have the "fog bank" at a distance. If I have the 16k or 20k mod on...it's gone. Also, as stated as before, I am taking a little bit of a framerate hit, but too bad. It's OK. I'll delve into into further see what I can do. Thanks!! Great water mod though.....

Ah... I see what you mean. The fogcolor in Hitman's 20 Km environment with clear or light overcast sky is matching the sky color. That gives you the impression that something changed in the fog distance parameters. They have not changed however. I experimented a lot with the fogcolor. My conclusion was that if you match the sky or watercolor the total atmosphere deteriorates as it becomes pretty dule.

Latest finishing touch for this mod will be that adverse effects when zoomed in at 10 x will be reduced. I'll release it suday or monday. And thanks for the compliments!

The only thing I did to the original GWX work was to export the 3D models for sky, fog and clouds, and resize them to 20000 km, keeping the proportions between them. I did not want to mess up colours, fog, etc, by adding more stuff by me, but it might be that the different sizes/proportions or whatever cause some minor visual changes. By far my lttle mod was way less studied and well done than your Rik, which I like a lot. Congrats

With different graphic cards and/or graphic settings sometimes different effects are seen I.E strange colours no sun haze small sun ball and so on.
the sky mesh can cause some problems.
Although I'm not quite sure what is being said are you expecting to get a ship spotted at 20Km distance surly this is handled by the sensor files.
my latest version of my water files has the mesh added from earlier versions and has cured all the problems I was having you may want to take a look at the scene .DAT file it might help you out

Great work by the way

Edit .... why has the site turned German ?????

As the high tides of Silent Hunter III soon is coming to an end I present this mod to the community as a tribute to SH-3’s glory and to its successor: SH-V. Inspired by the first screenshots I tried to create some aspect of the atmosphere as a sneak preview into this mod.

what?
