Point 1 is impossible from a gameplay POV, adds nothing to realism, and would kill the game for everyone having to restart whole missions.

Everything else seems acceptable (I think).

Cheers

I wish I could see two important things in SH5 as for tough realism:
1. Various sort of torpedo malfunctions. Premature detonations, torpedoes running too deep, torpedoes bumping off the ships or not exploding at all.
2. Early in the war and to some extent later, various levels of the enemy`s and crew`s alertness. I mean, there were cases when the destroyers were virtually blind to the surfaced U Boats and otherwise - sometimes the deck watch failed to spot the destroyer running against the Boat in time.

Oh I'd have to disagree with that! Dead is Dead adds alot to realism, in the sense that you might actually start to sweat for real when you hear those asdic pings and you know that you might lose your entire career if you die. Kinda gives you a reason to stay alive no?

Take it a step further... if you die, it will fry your whole computer and de-activate your copy of the game!

I agree that the ability to restore to a previous point is too tempting to abuse... I know I've done it many times. I would like to have the OPTION to make it so that it only saves when I exit the game, and when I die I can't re-load at all. I think it would be fun to play this way, but unreasonable to force this style of gameplay on everyone.

You laugh but I clearly remember a guy here, around 2006, saying that when he dies he puts his game away in the closet for 6 months. We would assume he was kidding but he said it in a serious way, so who knows...
As for me, personally, I have no problem scraping a career if I die, in fact it would be harder for me to continue it.
