That aeroplane is clearly a catalina flying boat, am amazed at the number of ships here. They have clearly gone to town on recreating most major warships which leads me to believe we will see alot of scenarios (ie scharnhorst Gneisenau and Glorius battle, sinking of the ark royal...they so could have been lazy and used the model for the Illustrious class....etc.). here is also a model of the Queen Mary, and nearly every ship in the German surface fleet. Cant wait to get a close up view of the ships.

The catalina had 2 engines and a cockpit . It doesnt show on the screenshot though.

No, they have the Catalina, and always have. That is something different - three engines and three tails.

But I also saw a BV-138 and a JU-290. Looking good!

Educational materials can skirt these kinds of rules with fair use. A textbook about WWII can't be sued just for putting a picture of a Grumman plane in it. Maybe some day Silent Hunter will rise to the level of educational material.

After they were designed. The military then orders them, then they are built. They don't keep thousands on hand hoping the military comes calling.

The whole process does consume tax-payers money but the designs are still patented.
