Just watching National Geographic documentary - on carnage that u-boats made on Canadian ships - at St.Lawrence river mouth... from May 42.
Narrow bay, shallow water with mixing of river and ocean water layers - making sonars blind, it was heaven for u-boats hunting. They would just take positions and fire torp by torp... what a carnage and horor...
