Ok, now it's coming down. Looks like the locality will be in full panic mode tomorrow and the town will be cut off from the world.
It'll make walking to work tomorrow morning fun, hopefully the County Council hasn't run out of grit yet and can do the roads so I can walk on them.

They'll probably want the work when they run out of grit and have nothing to do!

How do you poms run out of grit? All your drama's keep banging on about their gritty reality.

Maybe the marketing guys are just full of something that rhymes with grit?

Dieu de batailles, where have they this mettle?
Is not their climate foggy, raw, and dull?
On whom, as in despite, the sun looks pale,
Killing their fruit with frowns? --Henry V

Sorry Shakespeare. Time for a re-write. Let's substitute a climate of icy, frosty, and exciting.

I think the fundamental problem is that some councils/local authorities have sufficient finance to stockpile supplies and others haven't.

Youcould reopen the coal mines and solve the heating and grit problems at a stroke.

I love the snow plow on the rescue engine. Steam power may be the answer.
