Back in the IDE age drives would come complete with all jumpers, cables, and any 'adaptors' you might require.
But since the market is so cost competive now these 'extras' are now omitted to keep the base price of the hardware down. The price on these cables I find outragous. I payed nearly $20.00 us for mine. Im sure I could have gotten it cheaper but I wanted it 'right now' ![]() Then I could have probably made the cable for like 5 bucks.

![]() ![]() My board came with 4 of them I think, but I didn't know they had those clips to make sure they stayed in place; I ordered 2 more when I purchased the parts. Think I paid less than $10,- for the 2. I've always bought HDs as "bulk edition". Never seen one that came with extra parts. Even IDE drives only came with 1 or 2 jumpers already on the pins. ![]()
