My dream would be to hire the original actors from "Das Boot" and make them do all the new speechfiles, that would be fantastic! (Except Klaus Wennemann R.I.P. he could only be sampled from the Movie of course)

One more question is there on my mind: Will there be a demo for SH 5!? Would be great to see if the PC is strong enuff to handle it at all...

Hi guys,
check this German Ubisoft TV show out. The newest show contains some new Silent Hunter 5 info. I believe that they actually played the game.

Starts at 10:15 - http://ubitv.de.ubi.com/?vid=751

Thank you very much for that! Too bad I don't speak German!

But besides that, SH5 looks pretty good. It seems they've changed the interface quite a bit. I laughed at the description of the sonarman "Sound Guy". I don't like the damage and flood meters, but I'm sure that's an option that can be removed. In all, it looks wonderful! Oh, and I love the engine room!

Yeah, I noticed a distinct American Deep South accent when someone said "All hands forward, get ready to dive!"

I want to say Florida panhandle or Alabama as the origin.

Thr interior also looks more realistic (more cramped)

Awesome indeed, but why would you need translating? Any old SH3 or SH4 player could comment on that movie for a whole hour better than the Ubi guy.

For a newbie player the game with the new interface will be awesome. But old Kaleuns bent on immersion by confusion will require a veeery different interface... Let's hope they won't require a different game.

I'm hoping the demo in the video was on easy settings. It looked like you had way too much information that would not be available in RL.

Everything I've seen paints an easy but original game for newcomers to the series. The interface has a "modern" feel that might not appeal to everybody but does a nice job of making it look ergonomically German. In all it looks like a streamlined interface and it should do well in drawing more players to what is a niche market than the old style. BUT...

Seeing SH3&4 in action with 0% difficulty and seeing it at 100%, both look very similar to an untrained eye. Based on that, the SH5 interface should look exactly the same on High difficulty. In that case, I'd better start learning Python . We're in for a hell of a modding era guyz..
