Maybe two or three years after the release someone or some team are gonna make a major “breakthrough environmental modding” and maybe your GPU won't be able to keep all graphic options enabled?

The point i'm trying to make is that it seems more clever to wait in mid/late 2010 and buy a new rig with a new generation of GPU rather than make an upgrade right now and be forced to get a new rig in 2 or 3 years (if you want to keep all graphic options enabled).

I'd be thankful if someone with deep knowledge in hardware could give his opinion about this.

they always do, especially any kind of large environmental mod

i would say that whatever you need to run strictly stock very well you can add an additional 50% more to that to run very well using large mods, it may not work out that way but its a good rule of thimb to get you prepared just in case.

Thanks!

I think I'm gonna wait and see how SHV runs on my rig (it's not gonna be great but I hope it's not gonna be awful) then I'll check prices and see if I can wait.

The only thing I'll be able to keep from my current rig, is the keyboard and mouse.

I think mine 2gb of ram and 3800 dual core athlon are ok but with 7950gt 512ram i think i should look around for an upgrade.Sadly the gpu`s here are with 70$ above the us prices...

Maybe later on. I'll see how my current rig runs it first.

I've been nursing my motherboard along for like 5 years... swapping out the graphics cards has basically allowed me to get along just fine.

About 3 months ago the mobo chip fan crapped out and I'm hoping it'll limp along til March; then I'll probably replace the mobo and CPU, and maybe pickup a little more RAM. I'm guessing it'll run in the $500-600 range, not too bad. Right now the CPU is adequate for all games, but definitely the bottleneck to target for the next uprgrade.

New HD but I had planned that for 7 anyhow. We'll see how the 512/3650 handles it. I think a 2.8 dual core should deal with this game fine, I mean what the frack. Got one of those obnoxious sunbeam coolers, she will not overheat even with GRAWII maxed. Can OC up to 3.2 but I'd rather run stock.

I was planning to upgrade my pc for some months. I'll wait for the release of SH5 before upgrading.

The poll has no option for people who are not upgrading...

I just did for Rise of Flight and I am sure it will play SH5 more then adequately. I usually get a new system every 14 - 18 months anyways.. I hate low FPS... Some people spend their cash on tricking out their cars or whatever.. with me it is always having a decent PC.

The polls is for 2 reasons.
I need to know that i am not the only one spending money on there computer system just to play SH5 . I need to justify spending the money to myself . (Yes i have a life as i do other things as well as sit in front of the computer ) .
The poll shows that people are willing to spend big to play SH5 so i guess the expectations are high .
If you dont need to upgrade then good luck to you .
