WTF, no Run Silent Run Deep?! That movie was excellent in portraying the entire attack procedure for US boats. And it had ten times more in-the-sub action than Das Boot.
 I almost forgot it was made by Holywood. Or wait.. Hwood was actually making good movies back then. Anyone remember "The Young Lions" or "The Seventh Cross"? And what about "Cruel Sea"?
