Get some tinfoil and use it for the surfaces.

Well, why not? With alot of time and patience it would work. Read some stuff about how they do it with goldfoil, shouldnt be that much different from using tinfoil.

Awesome job on that P-47! Your weathering is perfect. I hope to do some aircraft in the future.

I'm trying to restart the hobby. I've got two kits that were given to me that should get things rollin: a Polar Lights 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 and the Revell 1/196 USS Constitution. I've got to get all the supplies again. All that stuff adds up fast. Models are cheap compared to everything else you need to complete them! I've never done a sailing ship before and all that rigging looks like quite the challenge.
