Thanks to all.

Is nice to know there is "another way" to scape from a Destroyer.

By the way, I made a quick search in the GWX 3.0 Manual, and the only reference I see is on historical background of some ships (in real life some could carry up 20 DC, 30 DC, 40 DC or much more) but I don't see anything about quantities they could carry up in SH3.

egads! ok imagine what 6 dropped per pass? maybe 8 thats still 5-7 passes with depth charges...

Remember, in RL an escort could keep a U-boat submerged for hours. Sometimes it was easier to wait until they had to surface through lack of air than to try and destroy them with a depth charge.

IIRC the DDs in sh3 had more DCs than i RL (what a begining:rotfl around 100 (in game) while in RL that number was smaller.Bottom line is that (as i said IIRC) they have more deptcharges ingame compared to reallife.Though this should compansate for the lack of reason in the allied escorts.
