Default DD Repaints done- naming conventions?

Hi all!

I have , at home a few new paintjob Variants for the Type 34 Zerstoereer done, but i cannot get them to work, like the brandom Merchants.
new Paintjobs are not Historically researched, i jhust painted them to look better, more like i would want them to look. With Yello Liferafts, inverted the Grey Paint Pattern etc, less or more corrosoin... Blue underside... you get the Picture.

so, 2 basic questions: where do i put the 5(five) new TGA files? into the TNormal- folder?

How do i properly name them, to see them instead of the standard 256*256 Paintjob?

Jhust
XXX_T01
XXX_T02
XXX_T03
etc

or what?

so much painting done all for nothing?

Thank you for advice or instructions

OH- i must add: new textures are 512*512... could that be the problem?

Another negative about using your deck gun is that you are definately DETECTED, which has long term effects on your relationship with aircraft. -snestorm

Not an expert on this, but here goes...
Two things have to happen for a ship to show multiple paint schemes:
1) It must be coded into the campaign layer(s) as DD Type34#1 (for example) to "know" to display that particular skin

2) There must be a corresponding .dat file in the ship's folder.

Anyone confirm this?

Unfortunately, the type 34 is one of the ships that only supports one skin. This is especially common with escorts and warships. You can only use one skin at a time, so pick whichever one you like best. Place it in data\textures\tnormal\tex and give it the same name as the corresponding file in tlowres\tex.

Okay, so before i start on dozens of Plane repaints-... do THEY work, or are planes "one paintjob only" objects too? :hmm:

Go to Terrapin's site, check the mod "multiple skin warships" and see who did it, then ask them. I remember when I installed it that the files went into the sea folder for the specific ships, which is why I think there was also an amended .dat file to go with.

iambecomelife, you may be 100% correct and I'm talking out my...err, hat, so I'm not contradicting you or correcting you. I just recall one of the guys talking about the specifics for making things show up, and the dat file and the campaign layer were the major fixes that stick out.

I hope the dat file modification is easy, since I would really like to make the C-3 available for multiple skins. I think I'll browse the forums and look for the related thread.
