New member and question about the FAIL "save game" feature...

If you don't have it already I'd suggest getting GWX (a freeware add-on) & SH3 Commander (also free). GWX fixes many of the worst issues in SH3 & adds new many campaign items (ie. the Indian Ocean, Black Sea). It's almost a complete re-write of the stock game. You can find GWX at http://thegreywolves.com/ & look in the Mods Workshop section of this site for SH3 Commander.

I'm not certain, since I don't have Vista <shudders and crosses himself> but it sounds like the problem you are having editing the files has nothing to do with the game but is an artifact of Vista's file protection system. Check your file and directory permissions.

I had no choice. My Dell crashed and gone was XP. I figured I would just upgrade to Vista and now I'm running it. No problems, even games work fine (generally) on it.

Edit the windspeed as recommended to sort out the bug.
