i get this bug from time to time, really frustrating when your opening patrol nets you 57000grt!

however, what i tend to do now, is take my boat out of the harbour, turn her round and head home, then go out straight away again.
this clears the first patrol (and thus the bug with 0 tonnage) and allows you to sneak in a quick Qualification on one of your chaps

i usually put it down as sea trials or naff engines or sommat in me logs!

love the Type II myself you know, plucky little boat, you really take a shine to em when your first out hitting with very limited torpedo stocks, lining up those shots carefully so as to not waste any precious torps.

when you get to a type VII you'll happily shoot off torps at the rate of knots (pardon the pun) cause you feel like your torpedo tubes are belt fed!

So you went back to a save that was just before entering port, but after the sinking of those 2 vessels? That suggest the effects of that bug (loss of renown through crew/equipment changes) can be solved by just going back to a save AFTER you entered port. No need to redo the whole patrol then, it seems.

exactly, it works if you have a this kind of problem you can get rid of it by using your last save before docking I was lucky I saved my game 60 Km. to Kiel so I loaded that save and docked to Kiel again

Thank you but I get my renown that I deserved with a simple save-load action

yes I choose my crew from renown free ones but I don't know it happened may be it was because of the conning tower emblem or may be the crew but my crew was totally renown free so problem is solved I get my renown and tonnage back and headed for 2. patrol AN 81 wish me luck

Even with BST this was before a state of war existed between the GB and Germany.

I noticed that British Ports turn red just after Midnight on the 3rd.
I normally receive a message before 10am UTC saying that British Ships are valid targets.
Normally in the afternoon/evening I get the message saying that war has been declared.

Which is my que to go ahead and attack shipping. I have been lucky so far as my first kill has only ever been early hours on the 4th.
1st Ship sunk @ September 3, 09.45
2nd Ship sunk @ September 9, 1939 09.09

when I sunk first merchant the war was already declared and the British merchants were valid targets but that was happened day time @ September 3 not midnight and didn't hesitate to sunk first victim...
