Firs Patrol Done, But with Problems (need help please!)

Ok finally I finished my first patrol with a average succes with my type IIA, I really enjoyed that patrol because I sunk 2 British merchants for 15323 tons i reported this, then I received return to base message, so I headed to Kiel and finished my 1. patrol docked at Kiel went to my office but there was no tonnage recorded on patrol log book ! and I checked the aces list:

Me: 0 tons!

and also Renown: 0

but I sunk two British merchants whats happening? Why my sunk ships doesn't confirmed as real kills? And where is my renown I am playing with GWX 3.0 with %100 Realism and the merchants are totally enemy not natural when I sunk them they marked as red on my nav. map! Please can somebody tell me what is happening ???

I can only guess... is it possible that the rough seas stole your credit? Was it calm or stormy? Did you watch the ships sink? :hmmm:

I don't know for sure if this is the cause of the no renown issue. But did you start in august '39. The english do not become enemy before a day or so in september. You would probably be lucky if those kills were not 'credited' to you in august. As you would have violated the rules of engagement. Are you sure it was an enemy? What flag did it carry? Doesn't every ship sunk show up with a red icon on the map?

Hanomag 07-23-09 10:28 AM

Oh boy... I am sorry. This was your 1st patrol.

Did you make any upgrades before you left port? There is a bug that if you do (make upgrades), you are creditless for any kills that mission.

Didnt see the screenies 1st time around my bad.

you can see the ships at pictures they were carrying British merchant flags and you can see the sunk dates and record on my patrol log book they were valid British enemy merchants and they marked as red on my nav. map...

Sorry to hear that :-?

Maybe you made some modifications to your sub before the first patrol?

I've heard that that can cause some problems with the renown earned

edit: I need to practice my fast typing

Not just Upgrades but Crew assignments too.

For your very first patrol in any new career it is best to just load straight into the game and then exit immediately. If you use SH3 Commander you can set your Days in Base to 1 to minimize the impact of this.

This bug only affects your first patrol and all other should be fine.

Don't be. It was only your first patrol, there are many more to come.

Also, if you really want the Renown, you can manually add it to your record by editing the Patrol_0.cfg file found in your save folder in My Documents. Edit the Delta Renown value at the end of the file and you will have that amount when you reload.....;)

hehe nice idea, i thought about that, but sound like cheating to me I just want to command a type VIIB/C as soon as possible because I really obsessed on these boats I don't know why but I love them so much...

and thanks for your attention and help dear Kaleuns

i get this bug from time to time, really frustrating when your opening patrol nets you 57000grt! :damn::damn::damn:

however, what i tend to do now, is take my boat out of the harbour, turn her round and head home, then go out straight away again.
this clears the first patrol (and thus the bug with 0 tonnage) and allows you to sneak in a quick Qualification on one of your chaps :D

i usually put it down as sea trials or naff engines or sommat in me logs!

love the Type II myself you know, plucky little boat, you really take a shine to em when your first out hitting with very limited torpedo stocks, lining up those shots carefully so as to not waste any precious torps.

when you get to a type VII you'll happily shoot off torps at the rate of knots (pardon the pun) cause you feel like your torpedo tubes are belt fed!:haha:

hehehe I agree with you, yes I like my IIA but I don't know may be you are right staying in a IIA can be good for first times then when I get my VIIB/C I feel like my tubes are belt fed (agree with you again :D) mg G7a
