Kapt.Klaus...I think hull numbers, especially in white, look great on a boat. I have a sub skin that I've been working on. Added and adjusted the vent holes as well as mapping out the water line to have a red and or black bottom, like a submarine model would have. Just cuz I think it looks neat.
But had to put the skin on ice until I could find a way to apply numbering/decals correctly. I'm hoping that the way you put numbers on is so that I can use white color if I need to. I can use black color on the occlusion files and make it look pretty sharp for a shadow, but cannot do images or white color, of course. I got 3ds max from my brother, in order to figure out the numbering and use for other ways to make better boat skins. But after some time now I am still struggling with the 3d thing. Tutorial after tutorial. It just seems to have opened a whole nother can of worms, lol. But I have been learning and eventually I'll figure it all out & maybe even work with 3d modeling for our game, eventually. So anyway, I'm excited to learn how to do this.
