Hello to everybody.

I`m new here. I have got SH 4 v1.4. Today I have installed mods to check them out. But the whole sea is much better without any mod. I tried with Real Environment and Pacific environment.

Here is a sample picture of stock SH4 :

And here is a picture using one of the mods :

I think something doesn`t work right. Please help.

Here is example with Real Environment, the problem is the same :/

Without :

Not sure what you're getting at. It looks right to me. Please explain in more detail because the more details you can give about your problem, the better we can help you.

Maybe I`m wrong, but the sea doesn`t look so realistic like in SH4 without any mod. I have got 1.5 version now and here is some samples :

Without mod :

Trigger Maru 1.7 :

Pacific Environment 4 :

The best graphic is in first example. Maybe my computer presents the graphic not correct ? The best option for me will be use TM without changes made to the sea reflections. Or maybe it`s a correct graphic, and I just prefer stock version.

Please tell me what do you think about it.

Maxim.

Ahh, I understand what you are talking about now. "Realism" is such a subjective thing... But if you look at these pictures of the South Pacific:

http://www.fotosearch.com/photos-ima...fic-ocean.html

You will see that the coloring is actually very realistic.

The coloring in the original would be more like what you find in temperate water like the West Coast of the united states, or colder waters like the Atlantic Ocean.

Also, I think the waves are more realistic in the mod, but that's very much a subjective opinion of mine.

I hope the pictures help!!!

Cool, we've established that it was working right at least. Now you can take comfort in the fact that your choice was made with the mod working as it should.

I completely agree with you on that. Both RE and PE introduce absolutely unrealistic, wrong view on pacific environment.

Whether you're pro or con the royal blue ocean of almost all environmental mods, photos are seldom "non-enhanced." Most 35mm cameras use UV or similar filters in front of the lense to cut down on glare ... and 35mm film is color-correcred for certain temperatures of light. Digital cameras usually have coated lenses that alter color and offer menu options for color adjustments to differing light sources.

It's all preference. There is no 'right or wrong'. If you like stock use that, if not load a mod. Griping because others use cosmetic mods to change the game seems a bit odd though.

LOL for every picture you can show of seas that don't look like PE4, I can show you one that does. So much depends on the time of day, year, weather, etc. that there is no "right" or "wrong."

Personally I've seen for myself water around Hawaii that looks like in PE4 - and NOT!

Default Pac Env and Real Env with GFO?

Can anyone tell me if GFO is compatible with Pacific Environment 4. If so, is it compatible with all the folders.
Or, do I have to sacrifice GFO to use Pac Env. I would like to swap between the two to see which environment mod I prefer but I don't want to lose GFO if possible.
If anyone could suggest a way I could try Pac Env with GFO I woould appriciate it.
Thanks.

PS: If there is a thread with this info just point the way.
